The free 30 days
You get 30 days of the whole app before you pay anything, and we don't ask for a card to start. That is deliberate: entering a few months of balances is the only way to find out whether this is useful to you, and you shouldn't have to hand over a card to find out.
Nothing happens automatically at the end of it. There is no card on file to charge, so if you decide it isn't for you, you can simply stop — you will not be billed, and you don't have to remember to cancel anything. We'll email you before the 30 days are up.
Why once a year, and not monthly
A monthly charge of about $4.00 is small enough that the card networks' fixed fee on each one would take roughly a tenth of it, every month, forever. Billing once a year keeps that overhead near nothing, which is a large part of how the price stays where it is.
If you stop paying
You keep your data, and you keep being able to read it. Your dashboard, your charts, your history and your export all keep working. What stops is adding or changing data: no new balances, no edits. Nothing is deleted, and nothing is held hostage.
You typed those figures in by hand over years. They are yours, and locking you out of them over $48.00 would be both wrong and a worse deal for us than simply letting you read them. If you come back and subscribe again, you pick up exactly where you left off.
If a renewal payment fails — an expired card, usually — you keep full access for 14 more days while we retry, and we'll tell you it happened.
Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your account settings, in one click, with nobody to talk to. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep full access for the rest of the year you already paid for.
Charges are not refundable, including for a partly used year, except where the law requires otherwise. The free 30-day trial exists so that you can decide before paying anything. The full terms are in the Terms of Service.
How we make money, and how we don't
We don't sell ads, we don't sell or rent your data, and we take no commission from anybody whose products you might hold. The subscription is the entire business model, which is the point: you are the customer, not the inventory. How that works in practice is on the Security page and in the Privacy Policy.
We also never connect to your bank. You enter your balances by hand, so there is no bank login for us to hold and nothing that could be used to move your money.
Where your money goes. Payments are handled by Paddle, which is the seller of record for your subscription — the merchant you buy from, and the name that appears on your card statement. Your card details go to them and never touch our servers; we store only the identifiers Paddle gives us so we know your subscription is current. Paddle also handles any sales tax or VAT, which is shown to you before you pay.
